Who we are
Black Ops Suppression Systems — B.O.S.S. for short — is a licensed silencer manufacturer in Virginia and was founded in 2022. We design, machine, and finish our own cans, all in house.

How the baffles work
A Tesla valve resists flow in one direction far more than the other, using nothing but its shape. No moving parts, no springs, no seats. Our breakthrough baffle geometry was inspired by this concept and works on the same principle.
The effect is straightforward. Hot gas leaving the muzzle is made to travel a longer, less-direct route before it reaches open air. Longer route, more time; more time, more cooling and expansion; cooler, slower gas is quieter gas.
The harder part is doing that without choking the silencer. Our baffles are shaped to lengthen the route rather than close it down, so the gas moves through more willingly than it does through a stack of plain cones. This is not a flow-through design and we do not describe it as one — the mechanism is different.
What that means on a gas gun depends on the model. The Tesla-baffle cans run at reduced back pressure against a conventional stack, and this is enhanced further with our vented end cap option.
The Commander and Executive models use completely different baffle geometry that we call Jet Diffusion Technology, or JDT. By conceptually inverting the flow of a de Laval nozzle, we take compressed, supersonic gas from the barrel and diffuse it into multiple chambers in each baffle, which allows for more expansion cycles. On back pressure this design goes beyond the Tesla design: these are genuinely low back-pressure silencers.
While the Commander and Executive lines are optimized for sub-sonic rounds, they perform well on super-sonic rounds too. Just like all of our non-rimfire models, they have no specific pressure limitation.
What they are made of
Every B.O.S.S. silencer has a Grade 9 titanium tube — the stainless models too. The weight saving is built into the outside of the can before the baffles are even chosen.
Inside, it depends on the model. Our stainless stacks are 3D-printed 17-4, heat treated to H900 condition. Our titanium models run machined, Grade 5 titanium baffles.
The blast baffle takes the worst of it either way, so it is extra thick and always machined from the hardened 17-4 — including on the titanium models. Behind it the stack is streamlined: material kept where it earns its place and taken out where it does not. Between a titanium tube and a thinned stack, even our stainless models come out light for their size.
Made in Virginia
We fabricate our silencers start to finish in our facility in Stafford, Virginia. They are not white-labeled or contracted out to somebody else’s shop.
It means the people who designed and tested the baffle are the people who cut it, and a problem found at the bench gets fixed at the bench.
